“I am often asked why, as a dietitian, I would advocate a method of weight loss that does not include regular food in the initial phase. In fact, there are a couple of very good reasons, one of the most compelling, is that when food is removed from someone's life they are better able to take a step back and look at why they eat. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about one's self and more importantly, begin to deal with the eating triggers in a more constructive manner. There is a greater sense of accomplishment as well as not having to worry about what to eat in the early phases which allows the focus to shift to problem solving and skill development necessary to keep the weight off.
It's very rewarding to see our patients losing weight, but even more rewarding to see them keeping their weight off. OPTIFAST products and group sessions allow this to happen!”
