Pat Jaynes has a new lease on life.

For years she has suffered from Type II Diabetes, and last year when her doctor put her on oxygen 24 hours a day, seven days a week because she could not walk across the room without getting extremely winded, she knew she needed to make a serious change.

Pat looked at both the OPTIFAST program and bariatric surgery, but ultimately chose OPTIFAST despite her concerns about not being allowed to eat “table food” for so long. After successfully completing the program she not only lost 70 pounds*, but no longer has to take daily shots of insulin and only needs to be on oxygen at night. She is hopeful that she will be taken off oxygen completely in the next few months.

In addition to the incredible strides she has made in terms of her health, Pat has also developed a new joie de vivre. She loves to read, ride her bike, travel in her RV with her husband, walk, attends classes at Curves, paint and dance. Recently she surprised family and friends when she learned “The Electric Slide” in secret and then joined in at a wedding reception. Friends now call her a dancing queen and tell her that she” radiates from the inside out.” She hopes that her story will inspire others not to give up and to stay positive during their weight loss journey.

*The typical OPTIFAST patient loses 52 pounds in 22 weeks. For many dieters, weight loss is only temporary.
